I have a lot of maps

I have a lot of maps- 96 counties and all 50 states. Just because I have to store them under my bed, it's not hording. I swear.

Here's a list of every country (minus S. Sudan) with their capitol. So there, I just did your 5th grade geography homework. If you have any special requests for a map wallet, let me know here.

I heart San Francisco

Because I'm feeling the love for my city lately, I've listed another stack of San Francisco Neighborhood Slim Wallets in my Etsy shop.

And that's right- another photo of another stack of Muni Fast Pass Wallets. I've finally listed them in my Etsy Shop. This is the last month of the paper Fast Pass so let's celebrate the only good thing about SF public transportation- The Fast Pass!

If you have any old Muni Fast Passes you no longer want, please feel free to donate them to me (or we could trade for some oranges from my tree or a beer)... Let me know in the comments section and I'll get in touch ;)

Jacques Cousteau, Ghosts and the Frozen City.

I had my 199th Etsy sale on Friday (pats self on back)- a slim wallet of Rome, sold minutes before I went to lunch at an Italian restaurant. do do do do, do do do do.

I have 2 more custom orders to complete and restock the inventory of the 6 shops that carry my wallets before I get to take a break from making wallets (above) and move focus to the band... Hungry, Hungry Ghost.

Until then- more sewing, cold hands, tired fingers, 11 hour work days, and song practice on lunch breaks.

Capsule Design Fair

Look for Heathered at:

I'll be in Booth #8, on Octavia between Hayes and Fell.

This event is about Independent Design, not "discount brand-name shopping or hippy craft browsing" (not that there's anything wrong with hippies). It celebrates the creative core of local individuals that are the artisans of our time. I'm honored to be a part of it.
Click HERE for the map from last year's event.

Neighborhood (#4)

I just made a new/old wallet series of SF neighborhoods. Each wallet has a different grouping of San Francisco neighborhoods. When you move to a new neighborhood, you make it your own but don't always forget about your old hood so your current one, depending on how far you moved, becomes a bit bigger- that's why the "Haight Wallet" sometimes will include the Sunset or West Add.
I've also found a few handmade things that incorporate someone's personalized map of San Francisco.

Infinite City: A San Francisco Atlas by Rebecca Solnit

Gangs of San Francisco - awesome 1800's symbols from neighborhood gangs of sf.

Speaking of The Haight, The Chutes seems like an odd thing to form a gang around but maybe it was just that dangerous. This excerpt is from the GoSF page: "The Chutes opened in 1895 on Haight Street between Cole and Clayton streets. The main attraction was a water ride in which daring patrons careened in an uncontrolled flat-bottomed boat down a 350 foot water flume, hitting a pond at up to 60 miles per hour. The park also boasted a merry-go-round, a zoo and a shooting range."

The Green Zebra

Now you can find my slim wallets at The Green Zebra in The Crocker Galleria (50 Post St, San Francisco, California 94104).

They're an eco-friendly, fashion-forward handmade shop in Downtown San Francisco. Green Zebra's mission is to get beyond the hippy-chic vibe of eco fashion and their target audience is a working professional, 25-45 years old, that wants to live a fashionable and sustainable life 24/7 and the SF tourist.

I'm so happy that they're carrying my wallets- narwhallets, amp wallets, map wallets, airplane safety card wallets, and SF newspaper wallets.

Oh, the places I have been

I have so much more exploring to do. This is all I've done so far:

I made about 30 map wallets this weekend and they're almost ready to post on Etsy... Here's the SF vs. Oakland map wallet I posted this morning:
